Cafe Restaurant Edelweiss in Ettal

Delicious food and super friendly staff

As usual with most of my travels, I attempt to stop into many of the main restaurants of the area to conduct a review. This Restaurant is great for solo or family stops. I ordered this burger that had cheese and cranberry sauce on it. Other than the bun of the bread being a bit hard, the burger was good. On the side was sweat potato fries where were perfectly cooked. For dessert I had the special (Chocolate Mousse), which was an amazing display of excitement. I paired it with a shot of Ettaler Klosterliqueur Blueberry (perfect pairing). Staff was open and friendly and interactive with the guests. They had a small dog behind the bar that I never got to see, but occasionally heard, which just added to the laugher of the environment, as it would only bark when it was told to be quiet. When you the bar keep didn't say anything it was nice and quiet all the time.

It couldn't be worse! If you like to be yelled at by an unfriendly boss, this is the place for you! Either he is overwhelmed with Corona or it is the character! Would have liked to have eaten something that didn't come out! Never again !!!

Unfortunately we didn't come to eat, so I can't rate this one. As for the boss, I unfortunately have to say that he is very, very unfriendly and completely overwhelmed with Corona, it seems. In front of the door people were hit who wanted to smoke and didn't have a mask on ...... Motto ....... THAT WILL BE VERY EXPENSIVE How to smoke with a mask .... When we went in we were hit by sluggishly, "First he would have to see if he had a table", although almost everything was free and there was enough space. So we are right out again. The sound makes the music, you don't have to admit that. Employees from other restaurants are also nice and friendly despite Corona ...... For us that was it ....... thank you PS Outside area not really cozy. Old and cheap, you can see that nothing is done so that guests have it nice and feel comfortable. Unfortunately only a 6- .....! Basically, 1 star is still too much for the restaurant .....

We were there for the first time and absolutely loved it. Super delicious food and a waitress who likes to do her job, despite the difficult conditions. Great beer and a nice sight. It's a shame that Ettal is so far away, otherwise I would certainly be there much more often. The roast pork was awesome (among other things), I'll miss it.

We only had a coffee .. It was ok ... The service was not very friendly towards other guests .. The area outside was not particularly attractive.

Very nice service and totally delicious food

I have lived in Garmisch for years now and the other day I was asked what my favorite German restaurant was. Unfortunately, I had not been here yet. The recipes and food here are unbelievable. I can't recommended it enough. I only leave reviews when a place bleed me away. So delicious!

We stop here before going up the Ettaler-Manndl, after the lock-down. restaurant has a nice terrace close to the Bennediktinerabtei Ettal. The food is typical Bavarian and was good, big portions at a moderate price. The staff was friendly :)

Eaten very well, served very well and friendly. The schnapps was the culmination of the culinary delight that evening. Absolute recommendation. We would love to come back.

Were there several times during our holiday and have tried different dishes. Everything was delicious. Service and service super nice and super fast. Will gladly come back and can only recommend it

Exceptional food and exceptional service. Everything we ordered was delicious. The apple strudel in vanilla sauce was to die for. The service staff spoke excellent English. They were so nice with our small children, which we do not experience everywhere we go. They had some toys in the restaurant for the kids, which kept them occupied and we were able to enjoy our meal. The entire experience was a treat. We will definitely be back.

Overall good experience. The pretzel schnitzel was incredible and a must if you are in the area. The local beer was a delicious way to wash that schnitzel down too. The aesthetics were nice and very traditional. Staff was not particularly friendly, but they were quick and effective. Cash only!

We had an edelweiss schnitzel, a sausage salad, a mixed salad and spaetzle with sauce. The mixed salad had integrated a ready-made potato salad. At least it tasted like that and gives a star deduction. Everything else was great. The schnitzel in pretzel dough, the sausage salad and the spaetzle. The service was quick, reliable and competent. The food came quickly. The toilets are clean. I can recommend it.

Arrogant staff, no manners, European restaurant staff have yet to learn how to treat tourist, either their own or from other lands, if it wasn't for us customers bringing in the business they would be out of business.
